Former Asbestos Companies File for Bankruptcy
Many companies and corporations that mined, processed, sold or manufactured asbestos and asbestos containing products have had to file for bankruptcy or reorganization. We recently wrote articles about Congoleum, Garlock, and RPM International, companies that recently have sought or been approved for bankruptcy or reorganization.
RPM has two subsidiaries, Specialty Products Holding Corporation and Bondex International, with more than 10,000 asbestos lawsuits filed against them. They are seeking bankruptcy. Garlock has also filed for bankruptcy, and Congoleum was approved for reorganization.
All of these companies have asbestos claims pending against them by plaintiffs that were exposed to their asbestos products and later developed or died from mesothelioma, asbestosis or some form of asbestos cancer.
The mesothelioma attorneys at Clapper, Patti, Schweizer & Mason will continue to keep their clients informed and well represented despite actions taken by asbestos companies. If you have concerns or questions, feel free to call our office at 1-888-855-9052.
